National Science Foundation funded the Navajo Nation Rule Systemic Initiative in 1998, Navajo
was the only entity to recieve the grant nationally. The Navajo Nation Rules Systemic (NNRSI) successfully       completed its term in 1995. Due to its success, Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley funded the Office of Dine' Science Math & Technology annually. It is our belief that the Navajo Nation is the only tribal entity with an education department that emphasizes science, math & technology
