"So Ba' Hane' - Story of the Stars"

Story of the Stars took place at the Navajo Education Center on Friday January 29th, 2010. Artreach International along with NASA and the Navajo Nation conducted a two day training which took place at the Navajo Nation Museum and the Navajo Education Center.

The "So Ba' Hane'-Story of the Stars" workshop was for educators and teachers who teach on or around Navajoland. The workshop was very interactive and both Nasa and Navajo Traditional Practioners and NASA Scientists and experts conducted stories and workshops which meshed and combined the cultural perspective of stars and the scientific relation to the stories. Workshops about gemstones, and constellations interlaced with NASA Science and Navajo Knowledge made for an interesting and very educational experience. A mini-planetarium was also displayed and stories were told from the inside about ancient Navajo philosophy and the position of the galaxy's orbit and how it came full circle with the Navajo Teaching.

This is the 5th anniversary of of "So Ba' Hane-Story of the Stars" and there has also been a book produced. Artreach International is working on a 2nd book about the moon which will be released in March of 2010.
The Artreach International announced that they are looking for contributions to the book with stories about the Moon.
