Tribal Consultation with U.S. Dept. of Education

For Immediate Release:

The U.S. Department of Education will participate in a regional Tribal Leaders Consultation meeting in Window Rock, Arizona, on June 30th, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (MDT).  The consultation will take place at the Education Center of the Department of Diné Education.


Senior officials from the U.S. Department of Education will be seeking feedback from Tribal Officials on reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA); the development of the Department's Consultation Policy; the Department's Plan of Actions; and any other Federal education matter that has Tribal implications. 


The U.S. Department of Education looks forward to a meaningful dialogue with Tribal Officials.
